About OIA

The Oakenshawe Improvement Association (OIA) serves the interests of all residents in the historic neighborhood of Oakenshawe in Baltimore, Maryland. A volunteer organization, every neighbor is welcomed and encouraged to join. Membership costs $20 a year.

Benefits of Membership

Besides the opportunity to be better acquainted with your neighbors, membership in the OIA gives you the chance to make a real difference where you live. Association dues help us deliver timely community news via our news emails and website, support community projects, remind you of upcoming meetings and events, and help you understand new neighborhood initiatives. The OIA provides many opportunities to hear and be heard in meetings with neighbors, Union Memorial Hospital, Johns Hopkins University, other area associations, city officers, and elected officials.

As your nonprofit neighborhood association, the OIA maintains a website, facilitates annual City residential parking permit pick-ups, organizes neighborhood clean-ups and security walks, and supports neighborhood meetings, parties, and even gardening events.

Apply to be an OIA member by filling out this form:  OIA Membership Application and sending to oakenshawenews@gmail.com.

The Oakenshawe Board
